“The beginnings were humble: just the three of us. Kaziemierz Zawałło and Piotr Faryna were the ones to help me lay foundations for today’s success. Even now we remember these early days with much fondness”, said Henry Klimkiewicz, President of Transport Consultants Group TOR. In the Warsaw restaurant Villa Nouva the company celebrated the 10th anniversary of its activity. More than 200 guests enjoyed themselves to the Celtic tunes played by the Beltaine band.
The hosts of the meeting were Henryk Klimkiewicz, the owner and President of the Board, and Adrian Furgalski, director at TOR.
Words of appreciation as well as heartfelt thanks for 10 productive years of joint efforts were delivered by Cezary Grabarczyk, the Ministerof Infrastructure, Krzysztof Celiński, President of PKP PLK, Prof. Wojciech Paprocki, Vice-President of Railway Business Forum, Janusz Piechociński, Vice-President of the Seym Infrastructure Commission (until the beginning of the current parliamentary term - also one of TOR’s collaborators), Zbigniew Konieczek, President of NEWAG Nowy Sącz, and Andrzej Osipów, President of PKP SKM in Trójmiasto.
“The responsibility for the condition of the Polish transport sector is a great burden. I have discovered it for myself just as my predecessors did. Some of this responsibility, even symbolically, should rest in the hands of the prominent TOR experts”, said Minister Cezary Grabarczyk, giving Henryk Klimkiewicz a black, steel ball, with the engraved word “transport”, on which there was an effigy of a marching donkey, carrying a great load on its back. “Such gift has been presented to each Transport Minister retiring from his post”, said Mr. Grabarczyk half-jokingly. “Since ZDG TOR has done so much good for the Polish transport, this model will make a most suitable gift”, he added.
“Taking upon our shoulders even the smallest bit of the responsibility for the development of the Polish transport is a daunting ordeal, but we are ready to accept it. What other company could gather so many so excellent guests at its birthday party?”, asked President Klimkiewicz proudly when cutting the birthday cake.
We would like to cordially thank all the guests who honoured us with their presence at the party, as well as all the collaborators, partners and clients with whom we have had the pleasure to cooperate in the last 10 years. We hope to work with you for the next 10 years.
